Andros Robot

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory's (PNNL's) Andros Mark 6 robot has been used for remote characterization of hot cell tanks in the 325 Building and railroad and ventilation tunnels in U Plant. Inspections included video, gross gamma readings, and collection of smear samples.

The Andros Mark 6 has become the standard against which all mobile robots are judged. With its unique articulated tracks, the Andros Mark 6 can easily maneuver over rough terrain and obstacles, climb stairs, and cross ditches as wide as 24 inches. The Andros Mark 6 is environmentally sealed to operate in any weather condition and in areas of high temperature/humidity. The Andros Mark 6 can operate on virtually any surface including sand, mud, gravel, and grass.

The Andros Mark 6 is equipped with two television cameras for remote viewing and a dexterous manipulator for hazardous tasks. The Andros Mark 6 can be optionally equipped with a variety of tools and accessories to meet your specific application.
